maravilla.cloud Apps Become AI Tools: Built-in MCP Hosting and an OAuth 2.1 Authorization Server

Basel, Switzerland, 12 June 2026. Maravilla Labs today announced that applications running on maravilla.cloud can act as servers for the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the open standard AI assistants use to connect to external tools.

A team that builds a booking system, an internal knowledge base or an online shop on maravilla.cloud can now let AI assistants use it on behalf of its users. The platform provides the parts that are hardest to get right: the authorization server, user consent and the management of which assistants are connected.

In Plain Words

AI assistants become much more useful when they can do things, not only answer questions: look up an order, create a booking, update a page. MCP is the common way to give them those abilities. With this release, an application on maravilla.cloud can describe what an assistant may do, and its users decide which assistant gets access to their account.

How It Works

Developers add an mcp folder to their application and define tools in TypeScript next to the rest of their code. When the application is deployed, maravilla.cloud serves those tools over MCP.

  • OAuth 2.1 Authorization Server: Built into the platform, so assistants connect through a standard sign-in and consent flow instead of shared API keys.
  • Client ID Metadata Documents: Assistants can identify themselves without being registered by hand for every application.
  • Connected Apps: An API through which users and administrators see which assistants have access and revoke it.
  • UI Widgets: Tools can return small interactive views that assistants render inside the conversation.

Agents in the Development Loop

The same protocol also works in the other direction. The Maravilla command-line tool now includes its own MCP server, so coding assistants can start the local development server, inspect databases, queues and workflows, read logs and search the platform documentation while they build an application.

Documents, PDFs and Sign-In by Email

Recent releases also added document transforms that merge text, images and QR codes into office templates and render them to PDF, rendering with a headless browser for screenshots and PDFs, and sign-in by magic link with email verification.

Running Our Own Workshops on It

Maravilla Labs uses these services for its own AI Builders workshops: registration, ticket tiers, card payments, and the invoices and tickets attendees receive as PDFs all run as an application on maravilla.cloud.
