Three Months Into the Partner Program: maravilla.cloud Adds Realtime, Authentication, Durable Workflows and Media Processing
Basel, Switzerland, 5 May 2026. Three months after opening maravilla.cloud to a selected group of partner organizations, Maravilla Labs has extended the platform's edge runtime with the services that most applications need beyond hosting.
In February, maravilla.cloud launched with source code hosting, package registries, CI and CD, static hosting and an edge JavaScript runtime. Since then, the runtime has gained a set of built-in platform services. Applications call them directly from server-side code, and they run with the same tenant isolation as the rest of the platform.
New Platform Services
Between March and early May, the following services were added to the Maravilla runtime:
- Realtime: Channels, presence and WebSocket connections, plus audio and video rooms with recording.
- Authentication: End-user sign-up and sign-in with OAuth and OpenID Connect, hosted sign-in pages, and access policies declared as code alongside the application.
- Events and Queues: A durable queue and handlers that react to database changes, sign-ups, queue messages and schedules.
- Durable Workflows: Long-running, multi-step processes that keep their state across restarts and failures.
- Web Push: Push notifications to browsers and installed web apps, including scheduled and recurring sends.
- Vector Search: Vector indexes in the platform's document database, declared in the project configuration.
- Media Transforms: Image and video processing in a separate worker pool, with storage resolved per tenant.
- Workspaces, Projects, Environments: A clearer tenancy model that separates an organization's workspaces, its projects and each project's environments.
More Frameworks
Since March, the runtime renders applications built with React Router 7 and Nitro-based frameworks in addition to SvelteKit. Every service above is available to all of them, and the local development server runs the same services on a developer's machine.
What We Said in February, and Where It Stands
The February announcement named three next steps. Here is where each of them stands today:
- A web-based management interface: the maravilla.cloud web console now covers repositories with a code browser and pull request reviews, pipeline runs and their secrets, and deployments with rollback.
- Nuxt.js and Next.js adapters: not yet available. Adapters for React Router 7 and Nitro-based frameworks shipped first.
- Storage and Queue APIs: storage and a durable queue are available to applications; storage now follows the new workspace, project and environment layout.
